Breast Lift With Implants

Every woman deserves to feel confident and proud about her body. When you look and feel your best, you can live a more satisfying life. That’s why at Female Plastic Surgery Associates of Tennessee in Franklin, TN, we perform life-changing cosmetic procedures, such as breast lift with implants, that provide natural and desirable results. Here’s everything you need to know about the procedure.

What’s a Breast Lift With Implants?

Aging, pregnancy, and certain medical conditions can cause unwanted changes to the natural appearance of your breasts, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. Do you suffer from low self-esteem and lack of confidence because of how you look? A breast lift with implants is a popular surgical procedure that significantly restores or improves the appearance of your breasts. You may also undergo this procedure if you have problems such as back pain and other unpleasant health conditions.

By getting a breast lift, you can improve the appearance of droopy breasts and have them positioned higher on the chest wall, giving them a perkier appearance. On the other hand, breast augmentation involves the insertion of saline or silicone gel implants into the breasts to increase volume and fullness. Breast lift with implants is a combined procedure that accomplishes both.

What Are the Benefits of the Procedure?

A breast lift is performed to successfully re-shape the breast tissue and eliminate extra skin. However, while a breast lift can make your breasts look fuller, it does not create additional volume. That’s why we also perform breast augmentation in addition to a breast lift. By inserting implants, we can improve the breasts’ shape, volume, and position all in one procedure.

Here are the overall results you can expect:

  • Improved breast contour and projection
  • Increase in breast size and volume
  • Enhanced breast symmetry
  • Increased breast firmness

Are you thinking about getting a breast lift with implants? Getting this combined procedure is a great idea. You’ll be able to avoid the additional downtime and costs that come with doing them separately.

Important Considerations Before the Procedure

Before you decide to have a breast lift with implants, here are a few things to consider. We’ll discuss these with you during your consultation.

Implant Type, Size, and Shape

Have you decided whether to get saline or silicone implants? Silicone implants tend to be more expensive than saline implants. However, they also feel more natural and are a preferred option for women with minimal natural breast tissue.

Your desired breast size and fullness will determine the size of the implant we’ll use. We’ll also consider the proportion of your breast, chest, and body size. And when it comes to the implant’s shape or style, we’ll evaluate your current breast shape and desired appearance. To properly set your expectations, we’ll use advanced imaging technologies that will allow you to see how you’ll look after the procedure.

Location of the Incision

There are a few places where we can place your incision. One is in the breast’s natural lower crease. Another is along the lower edge of the areola. However, the most common option is placing the incision near the armpit. A majority of implants are inserted beneath the chest wall muscle rather than on top.

What Can You Expect During the Procedure?

Breast augmentation with implants can be done in two stages or all at once. When both procedures are performed simultaneously, an incision is usually made around the outside edge of the areola. It continues to go down to the fold beneath the breasts. The incision may also extend horizontally along the breast crease if there is substantial drooping. Excess skin is removed after the incision is made, and the breast tissues are raised to a higher position on the chest.

The nipples can also be repositioned and elevated at this point. Then, the chosen implants are inserted through the same incision. Once the implants are placed in their ideal position, the skin is pulled tight and reattached beneath the breasts using tiny stitches. The result is an enhanced breast shape with improved symmetry. The surgery is usually done as an outpatient procedure and takes around three hours to complete.

How Long Does It Take to Recover?

Your body’s natural healing ability determines the length of your recovery period. Usually, we recommend that you take at least one to two weeks off work. Once you’ve made it through the first two days of recovery, you should start to feel much better. If you are in good health before the surgery, your recovery period will be shorter.

We can recommend a recovery plan for you, including when it is best to return to work and exercise.

Are You an Ideal Candidate?

A breast lift with implants can help women who are looking for effective ways to enhance or restore their natural appearance. The ideal candidates for the procedure are those who are in good overall health. You should also have realistic expectations about what the procedure can do for you.

We’ll discuss your concerns and talk about your options during our initial consultation. To make sure that you have a positive experience, we’ll have a detailed conversation about your cosmetic goals and health history. We’ll also assess your current breast and body anatomy. And if you have personal preferences about the procedure, we’ll encourage you to ask questions so you can learn more about the surgery.
