Dr. Kristina Dare O’Shaughnessy, M.D., is a board-certified female plastic surgeon with extensive training in reconstructive surgery of the body. Her passion for medicine began in high school one summer while shadowing her mother who was a Hospice nurse for many years. Living in central Florida since the age of 11, she was honored to attend the University of Florida on full academic scholarship graduating with honors and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and a minor in Chemistry. She worked in research at the University of Florida for one year, before attending the University of Florida School of Medicine where she earned several awards for outstanding research.
Dr. O’Shaughnessy traveled to Chicago where she completed seven years of surgical training in the Integrated Plastic Surgery Program at Northwestern University. After Northwestern, she received an additional year of specialty training in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery under the leadership of Dr. Patrick Maxwell in Nashville. Dr. O’Shaughnessy is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
